Homolka (and her lawyers) managed to manipulate the entire legal system to her advantage.
It is interesting that the same woman, who just last week was portraying herself as a victim of the media, runs immediately to the media upon her release.
It does not seem as though she is too eager to escape the public eye afterall.
While I agree that Karla Homolka is effin' creepy, it's a slippery slope if you start trying to manipulate her plea agreement when she's already served her time.
The guy...super creepy. Have you read his blog? I'm sure it'll be something that will be studied for years.
Homolka was handed her sentence and has served it fully. Our justice system failed in this case, but to change Homolka's sentence at this point would undermine the entire judicial system.
There have been so many cases lately where violent sexual predators have been released only to reoffend. I hope that people are getting angry enough over this to effect some change and eliminate this revolving door justice. It is time that we realized that there are monsters among us who can not be rehabilitated.
My husband was looking at Duncan's blog. I couldn't stomach the thought of it. I sincerely hope that justice will be served in that case.
If you don't read the last few entries, it's a rather fascinating look into his world. From the early posts, I thought he was angry and troubled, but I never would've guessed how he would end up. I didn't read the whole blog, but skipped around.
Even though he's sick, the commenters aren't so precious themselves. They're writing as if he's ever going to have access to that blog again.
I'm sure justice will be served. He's an ex-felon and his blog proves pre-meditation.
