We Won by Expat
An ancient Chinese proverb states, "If you want happiness for a lifetime - help the next generation".
As such, a league of pioneering Canadian expatriates and Canadian sympathizers have done exactly that. Through their iron will, chocolate bar discrimination has come to an end, thus ensuring gastronomic happiness for generations of Americans to come.
That is right! Coffee Crisp can now be enjoyed freely south of the forty-ninth parallel. No longer must we rely on eBay to get a fix!
After six long years of petitioning Nestle they have finally seen the light. In late July, 2006 Nestle will begin to market Coffee Crisp nationally, treating it like any other of the many candy bars they sell in the U.S. For the first time, Americans will finally be exposed to what had previously been an exclusively Canadian delicacy.
Support this chocolate bar revolution. The next time that you are asked, "How do you like your coffee?" Respond with, "Crisp!".
Troubleshooting: Can't find Coffee Crisp near you? Don't panic! Take this form to your favourite corner store manager!
Hi, I am so glad you are back! Have missed your words of wisdom and fun! I miss Coffee Crisp over here in Europe, and always stock up when I'm at home, also miss Sweet Maries, although I have found them at my local supermarket at 2.99 Euros a hit- guess have to pay for the flight across the big pond!! Also can't wait to arrive at the airport, pick up a car and DRIVE TO THE FIRST TIM HORTON'S I can find - I need that hit and dream of it!!! Have you moved abode? Are you now able to work in the profession of your choice in the US of A? So many questions which I am sure you will answer as time allows.
Like you, I also have big plans for my first visit home. I am going to swing past Tim Hortons; buy a few cases of Sweet Maries, Aeros, and Smarties; and hunt down some fries and gravy! My husband keeps teasing me that the entire trip is going to revolve around me eating. LOL I guess that I should buy some pants with an elastic waistband. ;)
Things have certainly changed for the better, Anonymous. In the space of a month, I received my green card and we moved to another state. It has been a wonderful change. I have an interview this week, so keep your fingers crossed!
Aw, you're back. Not only are you back, you're back with all kinds of good news. While we could always get Coffee Crisp here in Vegas, it was never anywhere close to the house. I can't wait until it makes its presence known. Be still my Coffee Crisp lovin' heart.
