The administration team is currently searching for Canadian expatriates who would be interested in contributing to the Expat Blog. The subject matter is wide open, but must remain family friendly.
If you are interested in joining our blogging team, please send an email our way!
If you want to see what Mr.Martin meant to say, check out the Maple Lounge's advance press copy of the Prime Minister's address.
In the meantime, here is a fun little game, courtesy of the CBC, to keep your mind off of whatever it is that you are supposed to be doing: Show Me the Honey!
I think that watching the story unfold from this side of the border softens the outrage a little. The media here has not really picked up on the story (at least not to the same magnitude as the Canadian media) so I am not reminded of it constantly. I actually have to go out of my way to stay on top of events in Canada, the Gomery inquiry included.
Being on this side of the 49th also leads me to question why Canadians tend to stick it out with the same government for so long? It seems like Canadians will remain with the same governing party until a huge scandal comes along and reminds us that it is time for a change and some accountability from our politicians. Maybe we need to have term limits on how long a politician can remain Prime Minister, similar to what is done in the US with the president?
As for the Expat Blog not covering the Gomery inquiry, at present, this blog’s main issues are trying to keep the Minutemen from patrolling the Blogger dashboard and hoping that the mighty United States does not try to annex this little bit of the internet! ;o)
