The Medical Mystery Box of Canadian Delight by Expat
I was surfing eBay today and came across this listing out of British Columbia. Up for bids is a "Medical Mystery Box" containing items that can not be purchased in the States "at any cost". The seller also says that he has had a few requests for these items by Americans.
Put your thinking caps on folks. What do you suppose these items of intrigue could possibly be? The seller says that the items are worth more than the starting price of $9.95.
A super sweet "I am Canadian" touque from a case of Molson's.
I am almost hesitant to blog about this auction for fear that I am increasing the bidding competition for this International Box of Mystery. Clearly the only fair thing to do is to make a deal that whoever wins it, must post the contents of the box so as to satisfy my curiousity!
I did a little sleuthing using the address that's visible on the box, and it tracks back to a company in Mississauga which manufactures hearing aids! So, while there's no guarantee that what is in the box is actually related to the box itself, I think we can safely surmise that the seller is Mr. Plum in the library with a wrench.
So, thanks to your super sleuthing, we now know that the box originated from this company and that Mr.Plum may very well be suffering from some form of hearing loss.
Here is an interesting note. I was looking at some of the seller's previous auctions and saw that his location has changed in recent months. This January auction for the new Canadian $50 bill lists his location as Beautiful Sunny Arizona. Could it be that Mr.Plum is a hard of hearing Snowbird?
We clearly have this mystery all wrapped up!
(I checked the auction this morning and nobody has bid on it yet. I am thinking that I may snipe the auction at the last moment!)
Guess who won the mystery box?! I waited to see if anyone else was going to bid, but when it looked like it was going to close without a winner I tossed $9.95 at it. I'll report back with my findings!
Do you know how awesome you are? You are totally awesome! :o)
Yesterday, I saw the husband looking at eBay and remembered the auction of intrigue. I was SO disappointed to see that we missed the close of it. I thought that the mystery would forever remain a mystery at that point and even considered emailing the seller to find out what was inside. (Bad eBayer!)
Congrats on winning the auction and thank you so much for succeeding where I failed. My head was in the clouds yesterday as we planned our landscaping project!
Be sure to give us an update on what you find inside. :o)
